Overview
MemorialPress gives a funeral home a website that reads as calm, warm, and dignified — a soft slate-and-sage palette, restrained typography, and gentle guidance rather than sales, for families at a hard moment. A hybrid Gutenberg theme, not a page-builder starter, designed to reassure, never to upsell.
Everything a funeral home needs is modeled in native WordPress: services, how-we-help paths, family & staff, resources, and tributes as first-class content types with shared taxonomies — no ACF, no Elementor, no third-party form plugin.
The tone is restrained throughout — no prices, no upselling — with a governed planning-resources page that fails closed, gentle anonymized tributes, and a caring, always-available contact path.
Caring contact path
A gentle contact form — real validation and a success state — with a ‘we’re here 24 hours’ note instead of hard conversion.
Governed planning resources
Resources and documents fail closed — verified only with source and reviewer. No prices; cost is directed to a caring conversation.
Restrained, compassionate design
A quiet palette, a soft horizon motif, and gentle anonymized tributes — dignified, never salesy.
Self-hosted fonts
Newsreader, Source Sans 3, and IBM Plex Mono served locally — zero Google-CDN calls, GDPR-friendly.
Accessible & translation-ready
WCAG 2.2 AA intent throughout, every string internationalized, escaped output and sanitized input.
